Why doesn't EGG & Capsicum come with built in Alexa?
We believe that a good speaker far outlives the input source connected to it. EGG & Capsicum speakers are designed to last you for virtually decades. If we were to build in a 'sound source' within the system, then we would be restricting the customers choice to upgrade in future. Keeping an external source helps in giving the speakers ability to connect to the latest sound source.

Why does it come "bundled" with an external Alexa device?
Because we want you to experience convenience and also experience a very good sound source at the best possible price. We find Amazon Echo Devices the best balance of price and audio quality.

Why the name "EGG & Capsicum" for a speaker system?
Many many years ago, when our chips were down, at a pot luck party, all we had was some Eggs, two Capsicums and a loaf of bread. We had no choice but to make sandwiches out of them which we reluctantly served at the pot luck. Ironically, these sandwiches were the biggest hit at the party. That day, we decided that whenever we will build a product STRAIGHT FROM THE HEART, we would call them EGG & Capsicum!
